Dental Implants

Dental implants are the closest you can get to your natural healthy teeth allowing you to do the same things you would normally do like – confidently eating, smiling, laughing, talking, and enjoying all your everyday activities without worrying about your teeth.

Basically, the point of dental implant surgery is to replace missing or damaged teeth and roots with artificial teeth and roots. Implants can be a more comfortable alternative to the traditional full-mouth dentures.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are metal posts, or simpler terms screws, or frames that are surgically positioned into the jawbone beneath your gums. Once they are placed and have healed, they allow your dentist to mount replacement teeth onto them.

Think of dental implants as artificial tooth roots, similar in shape to screws. When dental implants are placed in your jawbone, they bond with your natural bone and become as strong or stronger than your original teeth. These implant posts are sturdy and become the base for supporting one or more artificial teeth called crowns.
